The 2026-27 school year will be my 34th year teaching Physical Education. I have been a part of 6 State Championships at the high school level. I was the head football coach at Autauga Academy during the 1999 season and my team posted a 13-0 season and won the class 1-A football championship, I also won Back to Back State Championships coaching girls basketball at Autauga. In 2002 I started coaching at Prattville High School with the football program as well as the girls basketball program. I became the head girls basketball coach for the next 3 seasons. In 2005 I became the Head 8th grade football coach at PJHS and the Athletic Director. During the past 20 years, I have served as an assistant basketball coach, and the head golf coach. My wife Leigh and I celebrated our 36th anniversary this summer, I am sure I was at the golf course on that day, but after all these years she's use to that. My wife and I have 2 grown children and two beautiful red-headed grandchildren Donald Maxey IV (Four) and Merrie Charles.

I'm so excited to start this new chapter at Daniel Pratt Elementary serving this community, and looking forward to some serious kickball and four-square games.
