Hi Everyone!

My name is Kourtni Thornton, and I am a 4th Grade English Language Arts teacher here at Daniel Pratt Elementary School! I am a 2012 graduate of Troy University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (K-6). I have been teaching for 13 years. I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach your children for the 2026-2027 school year.

On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, John, for almost 6 years. We share one daughter, Olivia, and I'm also very fortunate to have a stepdaughter, Emma Claire. When I'm not at school teaching in my classroom, you can find me at home with my family. There's also a very good chance that you might see me with a book in my hands. If it's a Saturday in the fall, you might see me watching my favorite team play. War Eagle (and Go Trojans as well)!
